Why ask, why not try it yourself instead of making comments that you've not tested yourself Pete? I have to do this all the time, even the export from Exchange, using the utilities can be imported into O2007. I just did Outlook 97 to Outlook 2007 yesterday. If you didn't know this, why did you bother commenting like you were an authority on it? -- You can't trust your best friends, your five senses, only the little voice inside you that most civilians don't even hear -- Listen to that. I've never seen importing a PST into another PST corrupt either PST. I have seen ghost folders in the profile or other problems that were fixed with a new profile, but the PSTs themselves are fine. DLs don't import well and contact-calendar linkage may need recreating. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook]
From: Diane Poremsky [MVP] on 1 Apr 2010 15:55 I'll never say "never" when it comes to Outlook, but no, importing a pst created in 2000 to a 2007 pst will not corrupt the pst, except in rare cases where there are already problems. It might corrupt the profile - this has reportedly happened - but in many cases, I think the profile was already in trouble. What is worse for profiles is a favored method of reconnecting pst a few years ago - create a profile, get the old pst and paste it over the new pst. To avoid problems, connect it to the profile in Control panel, Mail. Same goes for moving psts - move the pst then point the profile to the pst before opening outlook. Don't wait for Outlook to ask where it is. -- <sig removed for leythos> "Peter Foldes" <okf22(a)hotmail.com> wrote in message news:#i9vsCd0KHA.3652(a)TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... >>How well will the *Win7* [Files and Settings Transfer Wizard] work >>from a WinXP with Outlook 2000 to Win7 with Outlook 2007? > > OL 2000 to OL2007 pst > > Just curious Diane.
