From: Steve_Karl on 16 Feb 2010 06:50 Labeling cables: Print the labels on the remainders of CD labels and cut them out with scissors. 1/4"(or slightly less) tall by 1/2" is perfect for 1/4" male plugs. I usually only end up printing 4 or 8 at a time but if I wanted I could print a few hundred on 1 sheet. .....but THEN make sure to use some clear packing tape to wrap over the label. They'll last 20 yrs. or more and still be readable. You'll get it sorted. The best thing to do is tackle one problem at a time. To be honest, you might be as well picking up a cheap soundcard on ebay until you can get the RME working. I couldn't use my Sonic Core (formerly Creamware) card in W7 as I refuse to pay 180 for the driver update (which includes all the dsp stuff I never use). Anyway, I picked up a M-Audio Delta66 on ebay for 50, had it a couple of days later, and it works great. (just a suggestion) Then get SONAR or something working with a few "must have" plugins and then you can slowly get everything else going. PS - I was pleasantly surprised at how little trouble I had with plugins. Make sure you get jbridge though - that helps a lot... -- =========== John Braner jbraner(a)NOblueyonderSPAM.co.uk http://cdbaby.com/cd/JohnBraner http://www.soundclick.com/johnbraner

My problem is that I have many thousands of dollars tied into top of the line Apogee converters along with my Benchmark converters. I need fiber optic light pipe cards to get the audio data in and out of the computer. Please don't tell me to buy a Mac because that would take all of the fun out of my computational experience. <g> Macs have cards for this as well along with Apple Logic. http://www.apogeedigital.com/products/x-series.php http://www.benchmarkmedia.com/system1/digital-analog-converter/dac1
