From: ANDREW OBERMEYER on 6 Jan 2008 16:03 I'm new to Dreamweaver and have spent a few days with the online video and other tutorials. I'm having trouble with John Vares' tutorial for setting up a new site. The instructions direct the user to work with the Site Manager. I follow all the instructions and the site is properly created. But my site does not include all the folders shown in FIG 2 of John's sample site: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/first_website_pt1.html Is the Site Manager supposed to generate a standard set of file folders and necessary files for a new site or do we include those manually? If manually are there "best practices" or "industry standards" for setting up the site folder structure?

No. you create the files yourself. BUT- in the case of that tutorial, there is a link at the start of it for a zipped set of practice files. Sample files: * cafe_townsend_cs3.zip (ZIP, 2.1MB) http://download.macromedia.com/pub/developer/cafe_townsend_cs3.zip unzip that file inside of the "local site folder" you've created, then follow the tutorial. -- Alan Adobe Community Expert, dreamweaver http://www.adobe.com/communities/experts/
