From: Chris Whelan on 30 Apr 2010 14:20 I've tried both Ubuntu 10.4 and Edubuntu 10.4 today; both seemed to take much longer to install than other Linux distros. Ubuntu sat at "Installing file 18...", and Edubuntu at "Running dpkg" for so long, I thought the installs had failed, but they eventually completed. Anyone else found this? It said the install will finish soon and then took another 10 mins!

I get the feeling the I/O is particularly poor in Vbox...

I get the feeling the I/O is particularly poor in Vbox... Found it quite slow to install on my eeePC 901, but not surprised. It boots up quite quickly, but I can't find any way to get a 'standard' desktop. I find the netbook style frustratingly restrictive :( -- Will J G
