From: pheasant16 on 11 May 2010 09:17 With Hulu, Crackle, CBS, etc having tons of content would like to cut the cable soon. Currently I use the software Playon and an old laptop to send signal to a WDTV Live box. It seems Intel's new i series are aiming at eliminating some of the early adopter boxes, and letting us more easily set up TV viewing. Hulu seems to only have certain programs on computer screen (The Three Stooges) not available on Playon. (still can't figure this out) So what I'd like to do, and maybe waiting a little longer would be prudent, but build something that would use an HDMI cable to feed directly from computer to TV, and make it easily switchable so I wouldn't need anything more than a remote to change the input to the television. Know a good video card is a prerequisite, but hope any other tings I'm not up on somebody can pass some pointers on. I do have a VGA cable from laptop to TV input, but at least how I have it, it requires many steps to get it fed to TV screen. Not what you want to do when the mood hits for a couple Stooge shorts when lounging on the couch. Sorry for long explanation, but I'm not much into tech any more. Last box I built was an Athlon XP model. Thanks Mark -- "The world is a dangerous place to live, not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it."
