From: Jake F on 10 Feb 2010 11:02 I created a few rules to move messages into different folders. When new mail comes in however it doesn't show the envelope icon as with new messages in the inbox. Is there a way to make new messages in folders other than the inbox show an envelope or am I stuck with the pop up notifications? Thanks.

The envelope used to appear even when messages were moved form the Inbox. So many people complained that Microsoft changed the behavior so that the envelope appears only when messages remain in the Inbox. DIsplaying a desktop alert from within the rule is your only choice. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook]
