Or SOUPish.

Well, yes, and it makes it quite handy, as instead of making some filter
which is only needed for a while (and you can't know how long), you just
read a post and you know that that thread is not going to go anywhere
you are interested in.

Working now I have changed it so instead of just the subject name (as
put there by the 'add filter' box) I have trimmed the title down to just
the unique bit and put an asterix either side.

In general you should use the * wherever there can be different texts.
Though for filtering sub-threads, these filter criterias are only used for
the "root" of the sub-thread that has to be filtered. The child nodes are
filtered based on the reference header.

So in general if you want to filter a sub- thread, just go to the root
article of this sub-thread and create a filter by tapping on the "gear over
list" icon in the toolbar of the article view. This will automatically
setup all filter fields correctly, you only have to switch on the " Filter
Thread" switch.

My problem is I went to the root, which made a filter for the thread,
which didn't work until I added a * to the name for 'Re:'
Which is what confused me
