I just didn't want to see a sudden "newsgroup does not exist' message
when updating posts. That happened with the DNS group, but then again,
I may have missed the notification that was getting shut down the
beginning of June.

I'm not sure an official announcement will get made in this case. As kj
said, nothing is definite, but I'm planning on this newsgroup leaving the MS
servers in early July.

It has been 'requested' Steve. Personaly I haven't seen any other formal
announcments of individual groups going away. The unpleasent 'disappearance'
has been my experience so far. "Wish *they* wouldn't do it that way" is my
only comment.

Sorry for responding to this so late, but I agree, it would be nice to
provide forewarning.

I've also stopped posting in the MSNewsgroups for the most part and
concentrating on the Forums. You never know when any specific
newsgroup will close and may be while in the middle of trying to help
someone.
