Nitro PDF Reader does all that, and it's a free download." Article in Lifehacker.. http://lifehacker.com/5548047/nitro-pdf-reader-provides-advanced-pdf-tools-for-free Download from http://www.nitroreader.com/ I'm curious how this compares to PDF X-Change Viewer (speed, features,...). Anyone care to comment?

Anyone care to comment? Their free reader is a beta version so they want feedback in return for use. From CNet's review: "In testing, Nitro's functionality kept pace with its comprehensive toolset. When you install it, it will ask if you want to contribute anonymous usage data. Users are opted in automatically, so if you don't like contributing don't install on autopilot. Nitro PDF Reader Free does more by default than any free PDF reader currently available, does precisely what it advertises, and does it unobtrusively, rocketing it to the top of the PDF pack." http://download.cnet.com/Nitro-PDF-Reader/3000-10743_4-75205901.html Company's take http://www.nitroreader.com/Beta/ All in all sounds like a nice program, just watch when you install and check all the options when you run it. It claims to convert umpteen documents formats into PDF, as well as being a PDF editor. In other words, it has the potential to replace the collective (PDF X-Change Viewer, doPDF, PDF Editor, ...). Pity it is still in beta mode. |
