I have absolutely no sounds in Q2010 deluxe. I open
edit/Preferences/Quicken Preferences and the box to turn on Quicken
sounds doesn't exist. It's not grayed out, it's not there at all???

I rebooted, no sound, re-installed Q, no sound, removed Q and deleted
all registry entries, .inf files, etc. etc. etc. rebooted, re-installed
and.... no sound.

All other sounds are working, computer is running Vista Home Premium
64.

The sounds in the "Sounds" subfolder will all play so ????

Quicken help says open edit, etc. etc. but there's no box to check,
their only other suggestion is to re-install so I wasted a bunch of
time on that but ....

It is there.

Edit > Preferences > Quicken Preferences.

In Left Pane, Select Setup (point and click one time) The Bold Word
SETUP.
Look at the Right pane "Setup Preferences". Check Turn on Quicken
Sounds.

I use Quicken Deluxe 2010.

Boy you must REALLY like the sounds to go through all that trouble to
get them.

I would do all that to get RID of them. Silence is golden.

Not sure about Vista, but in Windows 7, changing a desktop theme will
also (sometimes) change the sound themes as well. Setting the Sounds
to anything other than "Windows Default" and Quicken sounds won't
play...

Try going to Windows Control Panel and Sounds. Verify that the sounds under
Quicken are selected.
