Maybe you got the vesa driver instead of nv. You're right, Sven. I checked the old logs, and it rejected nouveau because KMS was not enabled, then skipped nv for some reason and went to vesa. That also explains why my custom video mode (Modeline) was not honored. vesa can only use modes defined in the video BIOS. Thanks for that correction. -- .''`.
