I have a degree project on Number plate recognition and i only know how to read image, convert to binary/grayscale, thresholding. i just started using matlab and its pretty complicated but interesting for me..but am willing to learn.. > > So for the time being i would like to know: > 1) how to isolate the number plate (i read that hough transform can be used for that purpose but i dont know how). > 2) how to determine the angle of inclination to use with radon transform. > > (the codes wid comments would be nice). > > here is/are the image(s) i wana work with: > http://rapidshare.com/files/364907380/npfront.jpg.html > http://rapidshare.com/files/364908228/nprear.jpg.html The links you have provided are not accessible you should have a look at http://javaanpr.sourceforge.net/ it is an open source project. You could rewrite the recognition engine in Matlab. or you could incorporate an out of the box library, and call it from Matlab. This one is shareware http://www.warelogic.com
