I tried getting the answer to this question via the O2 web site (couldn't
find it), O2 on-line chat to an advisor, who didn't know the answer, and
by calling O2. The latter gave me the answer that even the smallest
amount of data would cost the full £1. That doesn't seem right to me.

If you used a small amount of data, on the O2 simplicity tariff, where
you are not subscribing to a data Bolt-on, how much is the per kB or per
MB charge? It is supposed to be a MAXIMUM of £1/day but how much does it
cost leading up to that?
Also, can you check data usage on-line on an on-going basis?
