From: Dgoldman [MSFT] on 21 Aug 2008 07:47 Have you changed any permissions on your containers at all? The tool will fail as the OAB Generation process is when it tried to query the active directory and can not find the data. ERROR_DS_NO_SUCH_OBJECT either means that the object does not exist or the permissions are locked down and we cant read it so it pretty much amounts to the same thing. -- This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. From: Bill Glidden on 21 Aug 2008 08:10 Dave, I found this on your blog: http://blogs.msdn.com/dgoldman/archive/2007/05/16/missing-permissions-on-the-address-lists-container-breaks-the-oab-generation-process.aspx Authenticated users have the permissions you specified: CN=Address Lists Container and CN=Offline Address Lists Container Permissions Authenticated Users: Special Permissions: List Contents CN=Default Global Address List Permissions Authenticated Users: Read and Open Address List In addition, the last one also gives List Contents to Authenticated users. Does this mean that something is in fact missing? From: Bill Glidden on 21 Aug 2008 08:26 I checked that the Default Global Address List was selected in the Default Global Offline Address Properties - it was. I also Removed it then Added it again and did a rebuild. Do I have to do anything else to make the changes active?
