From: JMc on 24 May 2010 22:27 Thanks for comments, and confirmations. By way of answer to specific comments and recommendations: I too can access the Discover Web site, that wasn't my point or question. I have not been using scheduled updates, I always do manual updates, though I usually manually click the update button which updates all accounts in my PIN vault. Since this problem, however, I have manually updated the single Discover account by itself, but got the same OL-293-A error. Thanks, I guess, for confirming others are having similar problem. FWIW, I tried disabling online updates, and re-enabling, which stalled during the set-up reporting the same OL-293-A error. I guess I should just wait another couple days. When I finally got to the web help, she said they were aware of the problem, that it was only since Sunday, and there was no ETA for a fix. That was Monday evening, EDT. -- Best regards Han email address is invalid
From: JMc on 25 May 2010 07:47 Thanks Han for the follow-up. My own logs show it was happening as early as 5/21 (Friday). Good to know they are working on it, and not surprising they are not releasing an ETA for a fix. It would be nice to think competent folks already know what went wrong and have a pretty clear schedule for correction. I assured them that I was not going to make any transactions but only want to report a problem. No good. I'm to cancel Discover as a result. (Their cash back arrangement has gone to seed anyway.)

(Their cash back arrangement has gone to seed anyway.) Stubby, before you cancel your Discover card, check out my post (today) on Citi Cards' absurd policy on removing erroneous penalty fees.... I'll be canceling both my Citi cards once I make a sufficient stink and get the $39 fee removed! Regards, Margaret -- http://twokatmew.smugmug.com
