From: Mark on 26 Apr 2010 21:09 I removed the beta version of microsoft office and installed the MSDN version this weekend but I can not set the defalut mail client as Outlook. It will not let me edit it in outlook or through control panel. Does anyone know how I might repair this, I tried to fix the mail client in the registery by deleting it and running repair on on the outlook setup but this did not fix my problem.

Assuming you have launched your Internet Explorer, from the menu bar go to Tools, Internet Options (this is the last item on the list). On the Programs tab, you have the option to select default email client. Try it and see if it solves the problem. Not a mixture of Outlook from previous office? > running repair on on the outlook setup but this did not fix my problem. I had a similar problem with office 2010 beta, under Windows 7 - I ran the Uninstall or change - change option and ran repair on Office Professional Plus 2010 Beta and it fixed the default mail client to Outlook - not sure why it lost it's default status under the 2010 beta version.
