From: Laurie on 19 Mar 2010 21:50 I recently installed my Office 7 from my XP desktop to my HP laptop Windows 7. In doing so, I lost some information and had to rebuild a bunch of files. Funnily enough, my help file is now written in HTML. How do I repair this? -- Living large in So Cal

If this is a new laptop, restore it to factory settings. I prefer less troubleshooting. :) 1. Do you still have access to the original XP desktop? 2. The help file has always been in HTML in 2007. If you are seeing HTML rendered code, there is something wrong with your IE. 3. There is no Office 7. Are you referring to Office 2007? It looks like you had a 32 bit Office that you installed on Windows 7 64 bit version. If so then you need to download the 32 bit helpfiles program from here: For Windows 7 http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=258AA5EC-E3D9-4228-8844-008E02B32A2C&displaylang=en For Windows Vista: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=6ebcfad9-d3f5-4365-8070-334cd175d4bb&displaylang=en Further info is here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/917607 hth "Laurie" <Laurie(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:27F79FCC-E4C9-471F-84BF-FD5202724CD6(a)microsoft.com... >I recently installed my Office 7 from my XP desktop to my HP laptop Windows > 7.
