From: FloridaKraut on 13 Mar 2010 19:38 I have Office XP Professional installed on a relatively new laptop (8 Months old) which is running Win Vista Home Premium. All (office programs) hav run successfully until recently. A few weeks ago - working in Outlook - with no provocation I suddenly had an 'hourglass' running - and an "Outlook not responding" message in the title bar. Within a fw seconds, the application slightly greys -out with the 'hourglass' still spinning - and the entire thing is non-responsive - only way out is to close the app.. This only effected Outlook until yesterday - but happned yesterday in Word - and now today in Publisher.. No problem in Excel or Access Any help - hugely appreciated.
From: David Webb on 13 Mar 2010 20:06 Open any app in the suite and then click on Help > Detect and Repair. Have your installation CD at the ready. I hesitate to believe you because Outlook 2002 will nto run reliably on Vista, as it's not compatible. At a minimum it will keep prompting for your account password because it can't retain that information on Vista. See http://slipstick.com/emo/2007/up070215.htm#vista . Here's a tool that's supposed to help: http://www.mgsware.de/index.php/OLAutoPW/138/0/ . The site is in German. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook]

I'd replace the drive. -- Leonid S.
