From: Andi24 on 15 Mar 2010 22:01 We recently purchased a netbook, and we would like to put our Office standard 2007 on it. The salesman told us we could just input the product key and it would unlock it on the netbook. Unfortunately our program is Office standard and the trial is for Office Home and Student. Since Standard has more than Home and Student I would think it would unlock it but it isnt. Any suggestions? We just bought office and we don't want to buy another one. Since the netbook doesn't have a CD drive how can we install Office without buying it again.
From: LD55ZRA on 15 Mar 2010 22:46 Andi24, You don't have to buy another Office Package but you may have to buy an external CD/DVD drive that can be connected via your USB port and this will allow you to install your package from the CD (I am assuming you have a CD for Office Standard and serial number for it). Also, if you have another PC or Laptop with CD drive, then you could copy the entire contents of the CD on to a flash drive (some call it pen drive) that can be connected via USB port. The third alternative is to create a mini network such that CD on another machine can be read by your Netbook. I don't recommend this approach because you may have to fiddle with firewall and file permissions and this could render your system prone to attacks if you forget to put everything back to normal. hth "Andi24" <Andi24(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:7F7B11D7-9EB8-40B6-8EC6-3AA579FE6699(a)microsoft.com... > We recently purchased a netbook, and we would like to put our Office > standard > 2007 on it.
