The humor is a more dry humor, like Jerry Seinfeld's sarcastic tone on
"Seinfeld". Therefore, the humor may not be as easily detected by
someone outside English-speaking areas (where the show would have
probably relied on translators that may or may not have inflicted
tones correctly).

The semi-monthly posting serves several purposes:
a) comp.binaries.cbm and comp.sys.cbm are complimentary. The FAQ is
text so it belongs in the text group (comp.sys.cbm). Binaries,
obviously, belong in comp.binaries.cbm, where a FAQ would be
technically off-topic;
b) many Usenet feeds no longer offer binaries. By placing the FAQ in
comp.sys.cbm, new (or longtime gone, but recently returning) people
can see that comp.binaries.cbm does still exist, and search for a way
to obtain it;
c) Let's face it, the C-64 is coming up on 30 years old, and we aren't
getting any younger. Some people who frequented here have already
passed away. Who'll be next? When someone else passes, will their
relatives/close friends bother to let us know? As long as the
comp.binary.cbm FAQ is posted regularly, we can be (reasonably) sure
that Cameron is still around. Somewhere. :)

If these FAQs are that bothersome, skip them. It's not like their
subject line changes each time they come through.

And it isn't nearly as annoying (not even close) as the 25 part FAQ
Rubywand posts to comp.sys.apple2 every month...
(actually one of the 25 goes to comp.sys.apple2.programmer)
