From: rdoc on 15 Mar 2010 11:18 As I mentioned in another article, I often shoot in extreme conditiions and have been very lucky not to have had any accidents or water/grime/etc issues. However... I can't expect to go where I go in the conditions I go out shooting in and expect that luck to continue. I have liked the Ritz warranty in the past and know that Best Buy warrants against accidental damage as well. If I buy a camera on line where my camera choice is priced right (Beach?) but they only sell the Mack warranty (no accidents) is there some other place I can buy a warranty that's worth it's paper and includes accidents? Thanks for any good suggestions...

I called my insurance carrier today and got a quote. Seems that it would add about $15 to the annual premium. Now... if one were to buy the 5 year Mack extended at about $50 and add the insurance at $15 and extend that to $75 you get about $125 which is roughly in line with what a AHD warranty would cost. I guess the decision would hinge on who you felt more comfortable to pay the bill should some misfortune occur.
