I'm only familiar with its reputation. I've heard it's decent, but the
main thing to keep in mind is that it's an on-demand-only scanner. It
doesn't do stay-resident, real-time scanning.

The best free AV I've seen lately is that free one from Microsoft,
"Security Essentials"
