For the time being, I found a work-around. If I use the Edit -> Links function to change the bogus name that direct entry inserts I get the right result. I have to get the original link entered, change capitalization on the page names - which I can do globally in short order - then Edit -> Links to correct the file name. Apparently, links are global to the spread sheet so this gets SWMBO off my back for now. I'll look at my options settings anyway - it would be nice to skip all the fiddling around in the future. I'll post back if that clears the issue - maybe it will keep someone else from fighting the same battle. -- Will Honea

I CAN'T STOP TYPING IN CAPITAL LETTERS UNDER WINDOWS! Wayne, Excel just became a non-player although I used it interchangeably for years. This spread sheet started several years back as a favor for the wife and worked under Excel (2000) as well as first Star Office then OpenOffice. The school has more than doubled in both student enrollment and faculty, to the point that this spread sheet now blows Excel 2000 or 2003 out of the water - too many formulas and too much memory required. Office 2007 or 2010 may handle it but I'm not about to shell out the bucks for something like this. -- Will Honea

Maybe it's placed at a slightly different location. With me (German local) it's Extras (Tools?) -> Optionen (Options?) -> Spracheinstellungen (Language Settings?) -> Linguistik (Linguistics?): Optionen (Options?) Good luck searching. Volker |
