I wish they would add the Nvidia/ATI repo's sooner so we could try out the Nvidia proprietary driver and Compiz effects. Does OpenSuse always wait for final to add proprietary video driver repositories? -- Patrick in IL.

After a kernel upgrade on my openSUSE 11.1 32-bit Gnome desktop system killed my computer Saturday night, I decided to install from the openSUSE 11.2 x86_64 RC2 Gnome live cd and am very happy with it so far. I'm not exactly sure what happened, but after the kernel upgrade I shutdown the pc. The next day when I booted up the only option I had was boot from a floppy. So much for waiting until the EOL of 11.1 as I had planned. |
