From: IanChutzpah on 22 Mar 2010 16:33 I have Mac Office 2008, version 12.2.3. A colleague has installed 12.2.4, and sent me a .docx file, but I can't open it. What's up? His settings or mine?

While this newsgroup is generally for PC versions of Office and most here wouldn't know one version of Mac from another there is a specific newsgroup for your problem and that would be microsoft.public.mac.office.word. Have you gone to the Office for Mac web site and downloaded all of your updates for Office 2008? Looks like Mac (and again I am no expert) the updates are cumulative and you should also have installed 12.2.4 on your system by now. http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.mspx?pid=Mactopia_Office2008&fid=E0ED1569-AB2F-407C-B728-4EDDC463C385#viewer And for the PC side who are viewing this, if you think we have problems, here is MS fix for this person's issue: "If you experience problems opening Office applications after you install this update, restart your computer. If you continue to experience problems after you restart, reinstall Office from your original installation disk, and then install this update again." Anyone for a Mac?

I love my mac, it never crashes, but sometimes it entertains me with a lovely spinning beachball untill I go to sleep. Then when I wake up, the beachball is gone, so is the battery charge and I can start all over again.
