Prev: how do I mark pages to seperate from the document later?
Next: my cursur does not work in my word document?
From: LawBeans on 13 Mar 2010 14:24 I am using Word 2007 on Parallels v.4 Windows XP and Leopard OSX. I have several collections of notes for law school that are 100+ pages, each of which is formatted with styles, using built in Headings 1-8. I have a TOC at the top that I have been using to navigate, but recently as I started reviewing wanted to use Outline view and Doc Map. I know that Doc Map has bugs, so I have been very careful to save a new copy when playing around with that. I also found the workarounds on this site very useful. Recently I have had some trouble with Outline View as well. For instance, it just now deleted Level 4. Just isn't there anymore, gone. Level 5 has inherited some of it, in very odd places, e.g., I had text like (15-19) after some of the Level 4 text which now appears after the Level 5 text that came just below it. Each of my levels in Outline View corresponds to a Heading #: Level 1 = Heading 1, etc. So my Heading 4 is now gone too. Just before it deleted it, I tried to save the document and received an error message to the effect of, "Word cannot save, file path error, would you like to save to C:/xxxx (I can't remember the path)". I clicked "OK", then it prompted me to "save with fixes". I foolishly clicked "OK" again. And came to where I am. I am concerned that it is a Parallels issue because I have found no other instances of this online. Thank you for your help! -Matt

OK, I figured out what was wrong. I DID use Doc Map (it auto started when I opened the document), which is why it got all messed up. So it is NOT an Outline View issue. Sorry for the confusion!
