From: Jan Berndt on 18 May 2010 12:06 we have a strange behavior with Outlook 2003 on Windows Server 2008 Terminal Server. if you click on an embedded link the installed Internet Explorer 7 opens trying to follow the link but ends in an 'unavaible' error message. if you refresh the page (F5)the webpage will be displayed. through group policies the IE connection (preference mode) is configured to use our usual proxy server through the automatic browser configuration and configured auto-proxy URL using a .pac file I have investigated the user config and found that through this policy the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\EnableAutoDial registry key is set '01 00 00 00' as a REG_BINARY value. When I configure this registry key manually as REG_DWORD with 0x00000000 the problem does not occur. so, I continued to verify the group policy options and changed the IE connection setting to use the same settings but imported from the local system now and not to use the automatic browser configuration. this change will create the correct REG_DWORD entry in registry and the problem seems to be solved. Even if this seems to solve the problem I'm not sure if this behavior is how it should be and I kindly ask you for your input many thanks in advance Brgds Jan
