It looks like the SP2 is not able to pick up the outline codes values from an
SP1 MPP file.

When opening a MPP that was created in SP1 in our SP2 environment, the
outline codes values are incorrect. The testers are having to go into the
outline codes and re-enter the correct information. Has anyone had the same
issues.

Example - if you choose Project - Project Information - the baseline Year
is incorrect and some of our custom outline codes values are incorrect.

Hello Talyor,
I am developing a Microsoft Project viewer, so have seen hundreds of project
files. I have faced with broken structure of outline codes for different
version of files. MS Project try to restore the structure, but probably can
not resolve it sometimes.

I have designed an algorithm to restore it based on outline level and Task
ID. Probably it is possible to write a macro to fix the structure.

So, it looks like quite general issue. But I was not able to find anything
in knowledge base. Hope community can tell us on that.

Denis, what you are describing is a problem with the outline number and not
with the additional outline codes that Taylor is referring at. And the
outline number problem probably only happens in your viewer due to not
correctly reading them. I do not think that MS Project was not able to
correctly recognize the outline numbers.

Issue resolved.

After backing up and restoring our Prod environment into or DEV environment
and provisioning a new PWA site. The new PWA in DEV using PROD(SP1) data was
upgraded to SP2 during the provisioning of the new PWA site. We were able to
test and verify that the outline codes are going to update properly when we
upgrade to SP2.

Thanks to MS on this one!

Issue not resolved. When we do a Save As to save the MPP into the New PWA
site the Outline Codes values are not populated anymore :(
