Hi
I bought a Pentium 4 CPU, 3.4GHz, 2MB cache.
But BIOS report it is a 2.4GHz.
Windows XP and Linux report it as a 3.4GHz.

BIOS message:
Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.40GHz (200x12)
<CPUID:0F4A Patch ID:0004>

Windows XP message:
Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.40GHz
3.42 GHz, 448 MB of RAM

Windows 98 message:
GenuineIntel
x86 Family 15 Model 4 Stepping 10

Linux (kernel 2.4) message:
Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.40GHz stepping 0a

My motherboard is a "GigaByte MV900M F4"

It's probably an outdated BIOS, yes, although if it is reporting as 3.4ghz
in the OS, the issues is proably that the BIOS doesn't see the correct
multiplier.
