pgsql: In HS, Startup process sets SIGALRM whenwaiting for buffer pin.

[HACKERS] Resetting a single statistics counter
In the spirit of finishing off small patches, attached is the one that implements pg_stat_reset_single(), to be able to reset stats for a single table or function. I kind of thought it would be included in the patch from Greg Smith for shared counters so I put it aside, but I guess I misunderstood him there. Anyway... 24 Jan 2010 12:27

Hello 2010/1/22 David E. Wheeler <david(a)kineticode.com>: Pavel, My review of your listagg patch. [HACKERS] further explain changes
Per recent discussion on pgsql-performance, and per discussion on -hackers that it might not be too late for small patches after all, here is a patch (as yet without documentation) which adds some additional instrumentation to EXPLAIN for hashes: number of buckets, number of batches, original number of batches, and... 23 Jan 2010 23:15

[HACKERS] We've broken something in error recovery
In a somewhat misguided attempt to test something else, I did this in CVS HEAD: do $$begin for i in 1 .. 10000 loop execute 'create table t' || i::text || ' (f1 int primary key)'; end loop; end$$; This ran for awhile and then ran out of lock table space, which was not surprising in hindsight: ERRO... 23 Jan 2010 16:34

[HACKERS] tab completion for prepared transactions?
Was there a designed-in reason not to have psql tab completion for COMMIT/ROLLBACK PREPARED ...? It does complete the "PREPARED" but not the transaction identifiers. Maybe it's not a common use case, but these transaction identifiers sure can be nontrivial to type. -- Sent via pgsql-hackers mailing list (pg... 23 Jan 2010 13:11
