If the source files are moved or deleted from their original locations the links will be lost and the Red Xs appear. Try right clicking the Red Xs and see if you can Browse to the original files and re-establish the link. -- J. All of the the source files should be archived on your hard drive...not on the net and not on removable media. Don't move, edit or delete the source files until the project is totally complete and re-editing is not the faintest possibility. When a video is not finished...Yes...save is as a .mswmm Project File. It's also a good idea to save more than one version of the project file. IOW...if the project becomes too complex or corrupted and will not open in Movie Maker... you can revert to an earlier version and at least not have to start from scratch. -- J.
