Encoded attack using cyrus sasl I came across an interesting attack when I was setting up fail2ban. My fail2ban config didn't have the ignoreip variable set correctly so I ended up accidentally temp banning localhost, but it brought an interesting bit of log to my attention. 9100 May 10 12:00:42 [postfix/smtpd] < unknown[190.144.44.228]: dGVzd... 12 May 2010 11:22
DSN without attachment? Hi all, I'm using postfix 2.4.6 and clamav-milter 0.9.6 to scan mails for viruses. clamav-milter is set to reject mails in case of a virus found. Postfix then sends a DSN to the sender with the original mail (and the virus) attached. Is there a way to tell postfix to not include the attachment in it's DSN? ... 15 May 2010 11:31

Best practice to drop spam with virtual mailboxes Hello! I've been trying to figure out the best way to drop/sort spam with virtual users. All documentation I could find didn't fit to our virtual configuration and I'm a bit confused what's the best way to drop spam. Our setup is postfix+cyrus-imapd+spamassassin. Users have access to sieve via roundcube plugin... 14 May 2010 13:55
Empty 'local_recipient_maps =' and security Hi, I have set up postfix with a mail_transport to Zarafa. To fix an ' Recipient address rejected: User unknown in local recipient table' error I have to put an empty 'local_recipient_maps =' in postfix's main.cf. I do wonder about the security implications of setting this option. If I understand the documenta... 15 May 2010 08:16
