Manually composing and posting messages to the two servers is a pain. So I use a script that composes the message with the update information and sends it to two groups on two servers. If you care to subscribe and check them out, you will see that the notifications are welcome. The most recent posting has the subject line: "List of Lists updated 2009-11-24" and appears in news://news.grc.com/grc.latest.versions and news://news.securecomp.org/securecomp. The web site being updated is: http://thedatalist.com -- Crash Committed to the search for intraterrestrial intelligence.

I'm sorry I don't know the answer myself, but maybe these google results will help: http://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C1CHMG_en-USUS291US303&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=CDO+nntp -- Microsoft MVP - ASP/ASP.NET - 2004-2007 Please reply to the newsgroup. This email account is my spam trap so I don't check it very often. If you must reply off-line, then remove the "NO SPAM"

Don't abuse a probably valid email address that isn't yours! Go inform yourself about SPAM backscatter. Then change that address into one of yours or something RESERVED to be invalid. The script I mentioned really exist, but I won't give it to address mungers! Stefan
