From: Jon B on 24 May 2010 12:07 Discovered a bug with Office 2004 & Santa Rosa chipsets last week, when I fired up one of our 2.26GHz MacBook to be the main machine for a conference. When you've got a presentation, go to 'View Show' and the machine will black screen & powerpoint crashes. Quick google soon traced this down to being a chipset issue rather than a localised prefs or install error. There are some fixes out there that involve transferring the opengl file from an earlier machine, but that also has a habbit of breaking other software. The fixes would appear to be install Office 2008 which doesn't suffer from this issue, or of course Keynote. As my 9-5 is hosting conferences & PC users come in expecting their powerpoints to work as closely as possible to their originals unfortunately for us that means Office 2008 is the fix. -- Jon B Above email address IS valid. <http://www.bramley-computers.co.uk/> Apple Laptop Repairs. |
