From: chuckleb on 8 Apr 2010 00:14 I have a problem with Windows 7 and all versions of Powerpoint. I have various AVI files that are embedded in PPT. The talks play fine in all other OS (Vista, XP, etc) except for Windows 7. I've tried this in all versions of Powerpoint (97, 2000, 2003, 2007, 2010 beta). When the AVI's are loaded, they go to black screens and/or play very poorly (stutter, slow, etc). If I just RENAME the AVI to WMV and re-embed it, it plays flawlessly. I don't even need to convert them. This is not a good solution since Windows 7 doesn't show thumbnails of the WMV files. I think that this is a Windows 7 issue with the render engine, but am not sure. I can upload a copy of a talk and associated files if anyone needs them and can advise where to upload them. Any thoughts? Thanks
