From: Sushma on 16 Dec 2009 07:37 Hi All, When i try to install my USB driver in Windows Vista an error is displayed "The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it". When i open the device manager and see the device properties code 28 "The drivers for device are not installed" is shown. This only happens only when "Windows Update" service is disabled and stopped before installation. When this service is running I do not have any problems in installing the driver. Moreover, this error happens only when i use WDK build 7600 with coinstaller 1.9. The error does not occur with previous WDK builds with co-installer 1.7. The error occurs only in Windows Vista. It does not occur in Windows 7. Does co-installer 1.9 require "Windows Update" service to be up and running in Windows Vista? Thank You. Regards, sushma

Did any one come accross this problem? I have couple of other devices which use co-installer v1.9. The same error could be reproduced on Windows Vista. Is this the problem with co-installer v1.9?? Regards, Sushma |
