From: Biyi on 3 Dec 2009 06:41 AppTrying to add data to an existing Excel 2007 Workbook. Keep getting a dialog box stating 'Your AutoCorrect file c:\users\......\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Office\MSO2057.ad, could not be saved. The file may be read only, or you may not have permission to modify it.' Notice the same thing while trying to reply a mail in Outlook. Cant remember having changed any settings recently or made any document read only. What did I do wrong and how to resolve the problem? thanks.
From: Ms-Exl-Learner on 3 Dec 2009 07:08 Check whether you have Full rights in C Drive. Open my computer>>Click on C Drive>>Do Right Click>>Properties>>Security>>Group or User Names>>Click Users now in Permission for Users check whether do you have Full Control on it or Write Permission Check box is having a tick mark. If you don't have the Necessary Write permission in C Drive then it is not excel problem, it's caused due to Network Security Rights issue and this can be solved by the Administrator password by giving the appropriate rights on accessing the C Drive. Remember to Click Yes, if this post helps! -------------------- (Ms-Exl-Learner) -------------------- "Biyi" wrote: > AppTrying to add data to an existing Excel 2007 Workbook. From: Biyi on 3 Dec 2009 08:40 Thanks, that was fast! Regret however problem not solved yet. Did check the permissions in C: drive and found that 'Users\username' didnt have full control. Edited it and granted full permission (with lots of warning about access security from the OS). The only item not having such control is 'Authenticated users' which I dont know about. The dialog box still keep getting in the way!. What else to do? "Ms-Exl-Learner" wrote: > Check whether you have Full rights in C Drive.
