From: Michael Engst on 15 Feb 2010 05:16 Hey, I want to create a model for a bouncing armature in a fluid which is accelerated by an electromagnet. I want to consider the Coloumb and Viscous friction. But when I use the "Coulomb and Viscous Friction" Block there is an error: "At time 2.652198330602797e-016, simulation hits (1000) consecutive zero crossings [...]". I think this error results from couloumb friction, which is higher then the sum of the forces. So couloumb friction would accelerate the armature....this isn't possible in reality, because couloumb friction depends on the sum of all forces and not on the speed of the armature. Does someone know an easy way to solve this problem or an available model? Thanks! |
