The trouble with a generalization is that it is generally wrong. To postulate that removing the battery from a device is a sound scenario is overly optimistic. Many laptops are not functional without the battery installed. Worse yet, pace makers usually tend to cease operation completely. While removal of a power source such as a battery while a device is in the process of being transported might be construed as didactic, it would be self evident that each instance would have to be studied extensively to insure that its intended goal does not diminish the usefulness of the device itself. -- Carmel Disclaimer: off-list followups get on-list replies or get ignored.
