Everyone who has an problem with the connection with live messenger and
they cannot see the contacts try this ( it works for me)

Close msn messenger (use task manager to make sure)

Delete these folders

(!! warning!!)

(!! your profile, winks and all the personal settings and data will be
lost!!)

1) C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Contacts
2) C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local
Settings\Temp\MessengerCache
3) C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Microsoft\MSN
Messenger\"

make sure that these folders are deleted "contacts" "Messengercache"
"msn messenger"

After that, start msn messenger and sign in, all your contacts should
get

Back from the server again.
