From: Alistair Quigley on 29 Sep 2009 08:57 Server 2008 R2 Enterprise running fine in all respects except Outlook 2003 is extreemly unstable, it fails to start randomly (about one time in every 5) and I cannot reproduce when its going to fail or not. The server has Remote Desktop Services role enabled as it is going to be a fully fledged RDS (terminal) server, so bit of a problem that I can't run Outlook. Office was installed in application install mode and was installed after the RDS role was enabled. Have tried re-installing several times. Have tried using compatability mode to run Outlook.exe in compatability with a different OS , but choosing any other OS to emulate from the compatability mode tab simply results in Outlook starting but throwing an error stating "unable to open default email folders, the information store could not be opened". Incidentally Outlook is being used as the client for Exchange 2007. Here is the text from the OS error message when starting Outlook: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: BEX Application Name: OUTLOOK.EXE Application Version: 11.0.8217.0 Application Timestamp: 480f95d9 Fault Module Name: dhcpcsvc6.DLL Fault Module Version: 6.1.7600.16385 Fault Module Timestamp: 4a5bd9b6 Exception Offset: 00001730 Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Data: 00000008 OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.18.10 ocale ID: 2057 Additional information about the problem: LCID: 1033 Brand: Office11Crash skulcid: 1033 Driving me mad as its preventing me rolling out my new 2008 R2 terminal server (or RDS server I should say!) Any ideas much appreciated.
