Even if I think I'm quite familiar as well with the product as with the community, I didn't know about this change and therefore didn't register all my versions (since OOo 1.0). Whom to address to modify the wording (and perhaps add a one sentence explanation as you did here?) > knowing if we have continuous users or how much user in an > heterogeneous environments might be a useful information. From: "John P. Baker" on 1 Sep 2009 16:18 How about under "Register Now" providing suboptions where we can "Register User & Copy" or just "Register Copy"? Under "Register Copy" provide "New Installation" and "Upgrade Installation", both of which would require nothing additional beyond the email address originally used for "Register User & Copy". Having just installed 3.1.1 I was confronted, as in previous versions, by the registration dialogue box containing 3 alternatives: Register now Register later Don't register It would be nice to have a fourth alternative: Already registered for obvious reasons. Saying I don't want to register doesn't have the same feel to it as saying I am already registered. :-) Peter HB --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: discuss-unsubscribe(a)openoffice.org For additional commands, e-mail: discuss-help(a)openoffice.org --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: discuss-unsubscribe(a)openoffice.org For additional commands, e-mail: discuss-help(a)openoffice.org

What useful purpose does it currently serve. Fine - I tried this evening, but am confronted with the 35 questions long questionaire. Not what I want to do with every version I install :-) > Even if I think I'm quite familiar as well with the product as with the > community, I didn't know about this change and therefore didn't register > all my versions (since OOo 1.0). It was discussed at one of the UX lists. But remarks about non logic text for users were not picked up... I have the impression that the intention was just to make it less easy to skip registration. > Whom to address to modify the wording (and perhaps add a one sentence > explanation as you did here?) > >> knowing if we have continuous users or how much user in an >> heterogeneous environments might be a useful information. Not what I want to do with every version I install :-) There is no requirement to complete the questionnaire. Just skip it, the registration is already completed. 8-) -- Larry I.
