From: Andrew on 31 Mar 2010 05:05 iMovie was great and did all I needed. For a while. Now Final Cut Express is my favourite. iWeb has been fine for some things: very easy to use but not flexible. Why don't Apple create a professional version like they have for video and audio (Garageband to Logic Express). I've been trialling Dreamweaver CS for a couple of days: deeply impressive but WAY too much for me with an apparent complete lack of WYSISWG. If there's something out there already, any tips? Ta.

Apart from the fact that there is no such thing as WYSIWYG on the web, it is not really the sort of thing that apple would be very good at I wouldn't think, plus not much of a market in it. Although if you mean, like the expresses, which are not really professional versions, but the trimmed "Interested home" versions, there could be an option for that although there are quite a few tools. Dreamweaver has a design view. Isn't that what you want? -- Woody

Some of my colleagues like Flux: <http://www.theescapers.com/flux/index.html> It's fairly new and apparently progressing steadily. The developers also are very responsive, which is usually a good sign. -- Martin

Ta. Depending on what you are wanting to do, you might find RapidWeaver will do the job. It's a WYSIWYG web builder, but a lot more expandable in functionality through lots of drop in themes (often customisable) & plugins. -- Jon B Above email address IS valid. <http://www.bramley-computers.co.uk/> Apple Laptop Repairs. |
