From: rkplanning on 21 Sep 2009 22:17 Recently loaded Project 07 onto a new machine running XP Pro SP3. Applied a 5-level Group By 'outline' to a project. In all views it appears correctly, however in print preview and on printed documents the outline cell background colours will only display on summary rows and not on task rows. Printing the same file to a similar computer running Project 03 does not generate this issue. This problem occurs irrespective of print and 3D bar settings. I can provide a screenshot of this issue if necessary. Thank you in advance for any help.
From: Rod Gill on 21 Sep 2009 22:38 Before going any further, try installing SP1 and SP2, you can download them from microsoft.com. Without them there are too many bugs to count! See if the SPs sort you out, otherwise get back to us. -- Rod Gill Microsoft MVP for Project Author of the only book on Project VBA, see: http://www.projectvbabook.com "rkplanning" <rkplanning(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:B02F5524-9516-4AAF-A5D4-DA6E0B3843D5(a)microsoft.com... > Recently loaded Project 07 onto a new machine running XP Pro SP3. > > Applied a 5-level Group By 'outline' to a project. From: rkplanning on 22 Sep 2009 00:21 Hi Rod, I should have mentioned that I am already running SP2. Full version info: MS Proj 07 (12.0.6423.1000) SP2 MSO (12.0.6425.1000). Cheers, Rowan. From: Rod Gill on 22 Sep 2009 00:56 I don't recall ever using more than 2 or 3 groups before. As this doesn't work in Print Preview, it's more than likely a Project problem. Does it work with 4 or 3 Outline levels? Does it work if you use different fields for each Outline level?? -- Rod Gill Microsoft MVP for Project Author of the only book on Project VBA, see: http://www.projectvbabook.com "rkplanning" <rkplanning(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:4B9E1779-6227-4FFB-A9C2-AB0C6EA26F95(a)microsoft.com... > Hi Rod, > > I should have mentioned that I am already running SP2. From: rkplanning on 22 Sep 2009 01:27 Currently using three separate outline codes, one has three (indented) levels (code 1) and the others have only one (code 2 & code 3). The group is: code 1 (group on level 1) then code 1 (group on level 2) then code 2 (group on level 1) then code 3 (group on level 1) then code 1 (group on level 3). I tried a dummy project: one task and one summary. I grouped this by outline (creating one group) and had the same problem. I then grouped it using the text1 field (again, one group) and had the same problem. The problem appears to exist however many levels/combinations of outlines I choose. I will be eternally grateful if you can help me crack this one! "Rod Gill" wrote: > I don't recall ever using more than 2 or 3 groups before.
