From: OsherD on 13 Feb 2010 00:45 From Osher Doctorow Goran Duplancic, Drazen Glavan, and Hrvoje Stefancic of Rudjer Boskovic Institute Croatia, in "Probability distribution of the vacuum energy density," arXiv: 1002.1846 v1 [hep-th] 9 Feb 2010, show that the entire probability distribution of the vacuum energy density rather than just the vacuum expectation value (VEV) of the Hamiltonian density is fully representative of the vacuum energy density. This agrees with Probable Causation/Influence (PI) which always regards probability as more important than expectation ("expected value," "population mean"), although Duplancic et al are apparently not familiar with PI. Readers might have trouble finding the above paper online under the last name Duplancic - it is best to access it under the title of the paper. I think this relates to the fact that the last name is spelled with an inverted v symbol and an accent symbol. I will try to discuss this paper in more detail later. Osher Doctorow |
