From: Osher Doctorow on 23 May 2010 11:07 From Osher Doctorow While Wikipedia's article "Rigged Hilbert Space" omits the physics applications and Wolfram's corresponding paper remains to be written (it lists the topic but has no entries yet under it), PlanetMath (Russia) is excellent and gives Arno Bohm's (U. Texas Austin) book on the topic from 1998 as a reference, which is a very valuable book usually found in research university physics libraries. The keywords "Distribution Theory" bring up 163 papers in arXiv, but quite a few of these are unrelated to the topic here because the words "distribution" and "theory" are often used separately in the titles with the former referring to "probability distribution" or particular types of the latter. "Schwartz Function" brings up 9 papers in arXiv, including 2 in 2010. "Tempered distribution" (related to Distribution Theory) brings up 3 papers in arXiv, including 1 in 2010. "Schwartz Distribution" brings up 2 papers, one in 2010, one in 2008, in arXiv. "Generalized functions" brings up 289 papers in arXiv including 17 in 2010, but has similar problems to the keywords "Distribution Theory" (see above). Osher Doctorow |
