From: Osher Doctorow on 4 Jun 2010 19:54 From Osher Doctorow From the last few posts, including the post indicating that folded plane sheets appear to be directly related to PI (Probable Causation/ Influence), we may conjecture: 1) CONJECTURE: The Universe is an analog of a Magic Slate with Erasing and Writing in LISP and possibly PROLOG using Probable Causation/ Influence as the "Decision" language. The reasons for (1) are: 2) LISP, like PI, has operations related to ERASE and WRITE (or ADD or the opposite of ERASE). 3) Prolog, like PI, is based on Logical operations. 4) This thread argues "convincingly" that PI describes the Universe at a basic level. A "Magic Slate" is a 2-page writing pad with the top or front page a thin sheet of transparent plastic, and the bottom page a thick board that is waxen. When you write on the top, it makes dark indentations on the bottom, and when you lift the top sheet away from the bottom, the dark indentations or traces disappear. It was commonly used in the 1960s and 1970s as a sort of portable blackboard or whiteboard for children, and there was also a "Scoobie Doo" version. Sigmund Freud had one in the 1920s, and considered some aspects of it as representing the model of the human psyche. Osher Doctorow |
