Your a DJ? What are the subs? Sounds underpowered to me, 800w into 2x18.

And remember kids, RAID is safe and the UPS never fails, and Cisco routers
never develop intermittent faults, and external hard drives never fail with
only a month's use, and the DNS is reliable and resilient, and the
mailserver is protected from all forms of attack, and the replacement UPS
will be reliable as the first one was an unusual failure. No one will ever
guess /that/ password, the aircon can't fail 285V is close enough to 230,
and the QoS on the PWan won't obstruct the tagged traffic.

Agreed. I'd say your x-over point is much too high. Sub frequencies are
basically
non-directional. If you lower the x-over to a more reasonable number like
100 or less, that 'spatial' effect will pretty much go away. You can
probably
leave the subs right where they normally are. Getting the x-over point set
to
the right freq will cure things.
Also make sure that the high pass filter is engaged on your sub amp. I'm
pretty sure the RMX series has one that's switchable via the DIP switches
on the back. Be sure it's engaged, and set to the frequency that suits your
subs. As I recall, the RMX has options of 30 or 50 hz for the high pass.
You will get more usable power from your amps if they aren't dealing with
frequencies which are too low for the boxes in use. Additionally, if a sub
is fed frequencies that are too low it can lead to over-excursion of the
voice coil, all the while not really making much sound in that low range.

Wait a minute...

You said this in your first post:

This seems to say that you have two 1450s, and each one is driving 1 box
in bridge mode. Whether the DJ is giving you a mono or stereo feed has
nothing to do with it. All that matters is the configuration of the amp, and
the load it's driving.
Which crossover are you using, and does it have a 'mono sum' output?
If it does, that's what you should be feeding your sub amps with.

I believe they're single 18" subs, so one bridged amp per box @ 8 ohms
which is reasonable for MI grade stuff.

No, my nephew is.

18" Eminence custom made.

Read the post again, each has it's own amp.

Sound great, BTW.
