I just run Quicken Deluxe 2009 for Windows in CrossOver Office. Works great, including online stuff. I still can't believe after all these years that Intuit can't figure out how to have a single code-base and file format for both the PC and Mac versions. CrossOver is also great for running IE6 to get to OWA (Outlook Web Access). I've read that in OWA/Exchange 2010, you can actually get to the non-lite version in Safari and Firefox, but my company is still on Echange 2007.

The very fact that there isn't a program called Quicken 2010 for Macintosh should have stopped you in the first place. It's called Quicken Essentials for Mac, and simply reading Intuit's description would have saved you the time and effort. They're quite clear on which features are lacking but present in Quicken 2007 for Macintosh, which they're still selling. The fact that they're still selling that one is another clue. -- My latest dance performance <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_9pudbFisE> Mac and geek T-shirts & gifts <http://designsbymike.net/shop/mac.cgi> Prius shirts/bumper stickers <http://designsbymike.net/shop/prius.cgi>

Intuit has dropped the ball. I'm trying to switch to another product. Since my old Quicken file went bad late last year and I need to re-enter things anyway, this is as good a time to do it as any. The problem is that I want the new program to do my checking/savings/credit-card, as well as loans, investments, and auto-updating of balances. I'm not sure which product to use. -- May all your good dreams and fine wishes come true! May joy be yours all the days of your life!

Me too. What's more, I can't figure out why they haven't fixed the file format bug which has twice now required me to start a totally new accounts file. And the second time, I'm doing it but with a different program by a different company. -- May all your good dreams and fine wishes come true! May joy be yours all the days of your life! |
