Since Quicken is no longer supported in the UK can anyone tell me if its
possible to instal the US version? I am not particualy interested in using
any online functions but someone has told me it simply will not run on a UK
computer?

Download the Quicken trial version and install, if the software works,
then you can order a full version online somewhere that ships to the UK.

Export Restrictions

I do not see the UK listed.

It's hard to imagine that it (or almost any other application program)
would not run on a UK computer.

Whether it's useful to you, using dollars for its currency, I don't
know, but as far as I know it should run with no problem.

The US versions of Quicken now have multi currency capabilities of sorts.
They do NOT automatically download and use "today's" exchange rates.
IN the OP's case, I'd set the home currency to pounds.
